No. Direct exchange is one option, but swapup is designed around a broader idea: helping people exchange, contribute, learn, connect, and create opportunities together.
Yes. You can join swapup with a free Community membership. Optional paid tiers—Connector and Catalyst—will offer additional features and benefits, but upgrading is not required to be part of the community. Founding Members who choose to upgrade during the Founding Member offer period will have the opportunity to secure locked-in Founding Member pricing. Additional details will be shared before paid memberships become available.
swapup is launching first in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Charlotte launch will help us learn, improve, and prepare the platform for future communities.
Founding Members are the first public members helping establish swapup in Charlotte. Membership is free, with optional paid tiers for those who want additional features and benefits. Founding Members receive permanent recognition, early access and updates, opportunities to provide feedback, and the opportunity to secure locked-in Founding Member pricing if they upgrade during the Founding Member offer period.
People can offer or discover skills, services, items, experiences, mentorship, local opportunities, and community support. You don't need to be an expert or own a business to participate—what you know, have, enjoy, or are willing to contribute may be valuable to someone else.
Members can form direct exchanges, use swap Credits, or choose to contribute through Pay It Forward. Cash and hybrid exchanges are also planned options.
swap Credits are an internal way to recognize and exchange value within swapup. One swap Credit has a reference value of one dollar, but swap Credits are not cash and cannot be redeemed for cash.
No. Members may choose to exchange value or contribute freely through Pay It Forward.
swapup is designed to make trust visible through Community Profiles, reviews, badges, verified connections, and a history of participation and contribution. These features help members learn more about one another before choosing to connect or exchange.
Yes. The Growth Center is available now and will continue to grow alongside the swapup community, with new resources for learning, personal development, mentorship, and discovery added over time.
